It’s all Innsmouth all week. Two visits in seven days to the haunted realms of the cursed New England town may seem excessive. Yet it’s never a chore when you’re in the delightful company of Rob Poyton, Tim Mendees and fellow Mythos author, Christopher Michael.
Yes, following last weekend’s Innsmouth Literary Festival another visit to the Innsmouth Book Club beckons. This time we’re discussing The Mythos at War, something of an open goal for me. Both the Seraph Chronicles and Mon Dieu Cthulhu! series chart the battles against the menace of the mythos during World War 2 and Napoleonic times.
In this wide ranging discussion and occasional ramble, we talk about the appeal of WW2 and the glory and honour of the Napoleonic era. They we delve into research and detail in historical fiction, Georgian science, the perils of Velcro, dive into modern warfare and covet cavalry sabres.
It’s fair to say we cover a lot of ground. There’s even a shocking revelation about the contents of my wardrobe and whether they could or should contain certain items of authentic Napoleonic clothing.
Enjoy!
